Margarita Lemann is a Master of Arts whose practice explores the natural world through oil and mixed media. She draws inspiration from its patterns, movement and energy, examining the relationship between organic forms and abstraction. Recognisable subjects emerge and dissolve through layers of colour, texture and painterly gesture.
Birds are a recurring motif, reflecting her interest in freedom, adaptability, movement and connection. Rather than depicting them purely observationally, she incorporates them into a visual language through which nature becomes a means of exploring broader ideas and emotions.
Rhythm and composition are central to her practice, creating dynamic yet balanced works that invite close observation, personal interpretation and contemplation.

About the artist
My work is driven by the quiet rhythm of nature and the subtle balance between stillness and movement.
Through silk batik, each line of wax carries intention, while colour unfolds like breath across the fabric. Birds become metaphors for transition, memory, and the space between worlds. A wing turns into calligraphy, and the pause before flight becomes stillness.
I choose silk for its luminosity and sensitivity to light and touch. It receives dye like air carries sound, softly but with resonance.
Alongside my textile practice, I have created large-scale murals in public and architectural spaces, guided by rhythm, surface, and environment.
At the heart of my work lies a dialogue between myth and reality, a search for timeless symbols that connect the visible with the remembered.
My works are held in private collections in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Portugal, Serbia, the Netherlands, Canada and Ireland.
